Job summary

AMLR Recruitment Ltd is seeking a diligent Quality Inspector in Kirk Langley, Derbyshire. The role focuses on first-off, in-process and final inspections of precision-engineered components, using micrometers, verniers, height gauges and bore gauges.

You will read engineering drawings and ensure products meet tolerances and quality standards. You will report non-conforming parts, maintain quality records, and collaborate with production to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Quality Inspector role within precision engineering or manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality control procedures.
• Experience with CMM inspection would be advantageous.

Quality Inspector

Job Details

Location: Kirk Langley, Derbyshire

Position: Quality Inspector

Salary: £29,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday – Day Shift

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00 (30-minute lunch break)
• Friday: 07:00 – 12:00
• Early finish every Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections of precision-engineered components
• Using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and bore gauges
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Ensuring manufactured components meet required quality standards and tolerances
• Identifying and reporting non-conforming components
• Completing inspection reports and maintaining accurate quality records
• Working closely with production teams to resolve quality issues
• Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high manufacturing standards

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Quality Inspector role within precision engineering or manufacturing
• Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• Good understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality control procedures
• Experience with CMM inspection would be advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary & Benefits

• £29,000 per annum
• Permanent, full-time employment
• 31 days' annual leave, including bank holidays

• Day shifts with an early finish on Fridays

Additional Information

The successful candidate will be subject to a six-month probationary period.
