Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Quality Technician for a Poole-based precision engineering subcontractor. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections, operate CMM equipment, and generate FAIRs in an ISO 9001/AS9100 environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out dimensional and visual inspection of precision-engineered components.
• Undertake first-off, in-process and final inspection activities.
• Complete FAIRs and quality documentation.
• Perform goods-in inspection of incoming materials and components.
• Operate CMM equipment to inspect components against specs.
• Use micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other precision instruments.
• Interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing requirements.

Poole

Are you a Quality Technician with experience in Precision Engineering or CNC Machining, looking to join an established subcontract machine shop offering regular weekday hours, an early Friday finish and overtime opportunities?

Do you have experience interpreting Engineering Drawings, using handheld measuring equipment and operating CMM machinery, looking for a varied inspection role within an ISO 9001 and AS9100 accredited manufacturing environment?

The company are a precision engineering business based in Bournemouth, specialising in subcontract machining and the manufacture of engineered components.

Operating within an ISO 9001 and, soon to be, an AS9100 accredited environment, the company places a strong emphasis on dimensional accuracy, quality assurance and maintaining high manufacturing standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Technician to join a specialist precision engineering company that offers an enhanced holiday package and an early Friday finish.

The Role:

• Carry out dimensional and visual inspection of precision-engineered components
• Undertake first-off, in-process and final inspection activities
• Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and associated quality documentation
• Perform goods-in inspection of incoming materials and components
• Operate CMM equipment to inspect manufactured components against engineering specifications
• Use handheld measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other precision instruments
• Interpret engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances and geometric tolerancing requirements

The Person:

• Quality Engineer experience
• Experience within Precision Engineering, CNC Machining, Subcontract Manufacturing or a similar mechanical manufacturing environment
