Job summary

Artificial is seeking a Quality Engineer to own end-to-end test automation across our product platform. This hands-on role requires structuring a large Playwright-backed suite, extending coverage to Transform/config testing, and delivering meaningful metrics to guide quality decisions.

You’ll lead automation initiatives, mentor teammates, and collaborate with Engineering to scale the CI pipeline while reducing flaky tests and improving overall reliability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and owning test automation frameworks at scale.
• Deep experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Comfortable reading application code and working in a codebase.
• Experience diagnosing flaky automated tests and preventing recurrence.
• Ability to establish test coverage visibility from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Reorganisation and consolidation: bring coverage, completeness, and integrity to our ~680-test Playwright suite and backend tests.
• Meaningful metrics: build real metrics for coverage, pass/fail trends, and flaky-test tracking.
• Ongoing addition and maintenance: own the suite as a living asset and extend coverage over time.
• CI pipeline scaling: collaborate on a scaling plan for Buildkite with clear ownership.
• Clarifying automation boundaries: align platform tests with golden tests and performance work.
• Mentorship: support QA Engineers with automation and knowledge sharing.
• Reporting integration: connect test results to the broader test management system.
• Cross-team collaboration: coordinate with Engineering for smooth handover and shared ownership.
• Building Transform/config automation: extend coverage into client-specific testing when Platform is solid.
