Job summary

Artificial in London seeks a Quality Engineer to own test automation across our product platform. This hands-on role consolidates a ~680‑test Playwright suite, adds structure, and extends coverage to Transform/customer configuration testing.

You'll scale CI pipelines, mentor QA engineers, and collaborate with Engineering and FDE to define automation boundaries and reporting, delivering reliable, scalable software for brokers and insurers.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience building and owning test automation frameworks at scale.
• Ability to diagnose flaky or unreliable automated tests and prevent recurrence.
• Experience establishing test coverage visibility and reporting from scratch.
• Familiarity with CI/CD integration and scalable testing practices.
• Mentor QA engineers and promote best practices across teams.
• Collaborative approach to work with Engineering and FDE.

Responsibilities

• Reorganisation and consolidation of the ~680 Playwright tests and backend coverage.
• Define meaningful metrics: coverage, pass/fail trends, flaky tests.
• Own the automation suite as a living asset with ongoing enhancements.
• Scale CI pipeline (Buildkite) with a practical plan and ownership.
• Clarify automation boundaries between platform tests and golden tests.
• Mentor and support QA engineers in automation skills.
• Integrate test results into broader test management (Linear linkage).
• Collaborate with Engineering for handover and shared ownership.
• Extend automation into Transform/config testing after Platform stabilization.
