Job summary

Executive Network Group in Hull is seeking a Quality Engineer to join a precision engineering and manufacturing environment. You will coordinate investigations into customer and supplier complaints, interpret GD&T from drawings, and apply metrology tools to ensure first-time quality. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, corrective action, and shop-floor guidance.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating investigations into customer/supplier complaints.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
  • Experience using metrology equipment including CMM and manual tools.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Internal auditor experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and control investigations of Customer/Supplier complaints to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Own production quality issues including inspections, corrective actions and risk assessments.
  • Audit manufacturing processes to support continuous improvement and cost saving.
  • Provide guidance to shop floor on Quality Assurance and cost-saving techniques.

Location: Hull – Salary: £35,000 + benefits.

Job Overview

A precision engineering & manufacturing business that designs and manufactures an innovative range of products for global export seeks a Quality Engineer. The role offers varied responsibilities within a precision technology environment.

Duties
  • Co‑ordinating and controlling investigation of Customer/Supplier complaints to enable full understanding of real root cause failure and corrective actions.
  • Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of any corrective actions taken to eliminate Supplier or Customer complaints.
  • Accountable for production quality issues – component inspection, corrective action, risk assessment and problem resolution.
  • Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing processes by audits, statistical analysis or other relevant techniques to support continuous improvement.
  • Providing guidance to shop floor staff on Quality Assurance and cost‑saving techniques.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
  • Measurement & inspection of components and complete assemblies.
  • Structured problem‑solving skills – 8D, 5Y, A3, PPS.
  • Read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
  • Ability to utilise metrology equipment – CMM and manual measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Familiarity with close tolerance engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Internal auditor experience desirable.
  • Proven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA.
