Consortium Professional Recruitment is seeking a Quality Engineer for their Hessle team. You will own quality, tackle complex manufacturing challenges and drive meaningful improvements in a highly regulated environment.

You will work across Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing, leading investigations, supporting validation and change activity, and using data and structured problem‑solving techniques to deliver sustainable improvements.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment with quality focus.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, risk management and statistical methods.
  • Experience with MSA, SPC, Gage R&R, DOE and process capability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day quality engineering support across manufacturing operations.
  • Lead root cause investigations using structured methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC, 8D).
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to sustainable resolution.
  • Support change control, risk assessments, validation activities in a regulated setting.
  • Conduct MSA, Gage R&R and statistical analysis for data‑driven decisions.
  • Apply Six Sigma tools to understand and improve process performance.
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on defects and yield.

Quality Engineer

Location: Hessle

Salary: £45,000 - £53,000 + excellent benefits

Take ownership of quality, solve complex manufacturing challenges and drive meaningful improvement. Consortium Professional Recruitment are partnering with an established manufacturer to recruit a Quality Engineer for their team in Hessle.

This is a hands‑on quality engineering role within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to get close to operations, tackle real production challenges and influence how quality and process performance are improved.

You’ll work across Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing, leading investigations, supporting validation and change activity, and using data and structured problem‑solving techniques to deliver sustainable improvements.

The Role As Quality Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:
  • Providing day‑to‑day quality engineering support across manufacturing operations, helping teams identify and resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.
  • Leading root cause investigations using structured methodologies including 5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC and 8D.
  • Driving corrective and preventive actions through to effective, sustainable resolution.
  • Supporting change control, risk assessments, verification and validation activities within a regulated environment.
  • Conducting Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gage R&R and statistical analysis to support robust, data‑led decision making.
  • Using quality and Six Sigma tools including SPC, capability analysis and DOE to understand and improve process performance.
  • Leading and contributing to continuous improvement projects focused on defect reduction, yield, process capability and operational performance.
  • Working collaboratively with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality colleagues to maintain high standards of product quality and compliance.
About You

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, improvement‑focused approach.

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Quality engineering experience gained within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within medical devices would be particularly advantageous, although candidates from other highly regulated sectors are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis, risk management, validation and statistical quality methods.
  • Practical experience with tools such as MSA, SPC, Gage R&R, DOE and process capability analysis.
  • The confidence to investigate problems, challenge constructively and work with different teams to implement improvements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, analytical approach and genuine interest in continuous improvement.
