Job summary

Executive Network Group in Hull seeks a Quality Engineer to join a precision manufacturing business exporting globally. You will coordinate investigations into customer and supplier complaints to determine root causes and drive corrective actions.

The role includes inspecting components, analyzing processes, and supporting continuous improvement with shop floor guidance on QA and cost-saving techniques. A full benefits package and training are provided.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained or equivalent with engineering grounding.
  • Experience in production quality control within precision engineering.
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret GD&T.
  • Experience with metrology tools and CMMs.

Responsibilities

  • Co‑ordinate investigations of customer and supplier complaints to identify root causes.
  • Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Own production quality issues including inspection and risk assessment.
  • Audit manufacturing processes and support continuous improvement.
  • Guide shop floor staff on QA and cost-saving techniques.

Quality Engineer

Salary: £35000 + benefits

Location: Hull

This is an interesting and varied responsibility to work for a business that designs and manufactures precision technology which is exported globally.

Duties
  • Co‑ordinating and controlling investigation of Customer/Supplier complaints to enable a full understanding of the real root cause failure and corrective actions
  • Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of any corrective actions taken to eliminate Supplier or Customer complaints
  • Accountable for production quality issues – component inspection, corrective action, risk assessment and problem resolution
  • Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing processes by audits, statistical analysis or any other relevant technique to support continuous improvement
  • Provide guidance to the shop floor staff on Quality Assurance and cost saving techniques
Experience

Applications are sought from experienced Quality Engineers with significant knowledge of production quality control and new product introduction gained within a precision engineering environment.

  • Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical discipline
  • Measurement & inspection of components and complete assemblies
  • Structure problem solving skills – 8D, 5Y, A3, PPS
  • Read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T
  • Able to utilises metrology equipment – CMM and manual measuring tools
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniques
  • Familiar with close tolerance engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Internal auditor experience desirableProven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA
