Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking a Quality Engineer for a Global Engineering and Manufacturing leader near Huddersfield. You will maintain ISO 9001:2015 QMS, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and defence standards, and provide QA support across cross-functional teams.

You will plan internal audits, manage non-conformances in SAP, and lead investigations using 8D/5 Whys. Role involves travel and continuous improvement across suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quality Engineer in engineering/manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings and GD&T.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and overseas with a full clean licence.
• Apprentice training or a-HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ISO 9001:2015 QMS; ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and defence standards.
• Provide quality assurance support within cross-functional teams; ensure adherence to project, contractual and customer requirements.
• Plan and conduct internal audits aligned with ISO and AQAP standards; apply risk-based thinking to ensure system effectiveness.
• Manage non-conformances and supplier defects in SAP; drive root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
• Lead investigations into defects, near misses and complaints using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys).
• Oversee quality documentation, inspections and validation activities to ensure product conformity in production.
• Monitor quality performance; drive continuous improvement and engage with customers, suppliers, and auditors.

The successful Quality Engineer will be easily able to commute to HUDDERSFIELD from surrounding towns & cities, including Leeds, Dewsbury, Halifax, Wakefield and Brighouse.

Key Responsibilities

Salary & Benefits

• up to £44,000 depending on experience
