Job summary

Anderson Scott Solutions in the Dudley area is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The role offers a 4 day week, Monday to Thursday, 41 hours, with a salary in the £36,000–£40,000 range per annum.

You will handle PPAPs, ISIRs and ISO9001 maintenance, lead audits, perform FMEA and control plans, and partner with production to reduce defects while training staff on quality and health and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing quality role.
• Familiar with ISO9001 systems and procedures.
• Experience with CMM and quality documentation.
• IOSH qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce PPAPs, ISIRs and other customer documentation (as required).
• Maintain the ISO9001 QMS and coordinate annual audits.
• Create FMEA, Control Plans, PSW and IMDS.
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Carry out inspections (first-off, last-off and in-process).
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and tolerances.
• Support APQP, ISIR, PSW and 8D processes.
• Work with production to reduce defects and waste.
• Train staff on quality standards and health & safety procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement using root-cause analysis and problem-solving tools.

Quality Engineer

Salary £36,000 - £40,000 p.a.

4 Day Week – Monday to Thursday, 41 hours per week, 7.45am to 6.00pm (times can be flexible)

Responsibilities

• Production of PPAP’s, ISIR’s & other customer specific documentation
• Maintain the ISO9001 Quality Management System – managing annual quality audit and systems
• Create FMEA, Control plans, PSW, IMDS
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Carry out inspections (first‑off, last‑off, and in‑process checks)
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and tolerances
• Support quality requirements like APQP, ISIR, PSW and 8D’s
• Work with production teams to reduce defects and waste
• Keep H&S system up to date and support external advisors
• Conduct risk assessments and review safe working practices
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations
• Monitor safe operation of machinery and equipment
• Investigate accidents and implement preventative measures
• Carry out internal audits for quality and safety
• Support external and customer audits
• Create and update procedures, work instructions, and records
• Train staff on quality standards and health & safety procedures
• Drive continuous improvement using root cause analysis and problem‑solving tools
• Producing workflow processes for new product introduction

The Candidate

• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
• Conversant with the ISO9001 systems and procedures
• CMM experience
• IOSH Qualification (NEBOSH desirable but not essential)
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Good problem‑solving skills
• Able to converse with customers regarding requirements / NPI
