Job summary

Anderson Scott Solutions Ltd is hiring a Quality Engineer in the Dudley area. The role is a permanent position with a four-day week, 41 hours weekly, 7:45am–6:00pm, with some flexibility.

You will produce required documentation (PPAP/ISIR), maintain ISO 9001 compliance, and drive improvements by addressing root causes. You will create FMEA, control plans, PSW and IMDS, investigate issues, and ensure products meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar manufacturing quality role.
• Conversant with ISO 9001 systems and procedures.
• Experience with CMM.
• IOSH qualification preferred (NEBOSH desirable).

Responsibilities

• Produce PPAPs, ISIRs and other customer documentation.
• Maintain ISO 9001 QMS with audits and system management.
• Create FMEA, Control plans, PSW, IMDS.
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Carry out inspections (first-off, last-off, in-process).
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and tolerances.
• Support APQP, ISIR, PSW and 8D processes.
• Work with production to reduce defects and waste.
• Maintain H&S system and support external advisors.
• Conduct risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regs.
• Monitor machinery safety.
• Investigate accidents and preventative measures.
• Carry out internal quality and safety audits.
• Support external/customer audits.
• Create/update procedures, work instructions and records.
• Train staff on quality standards and H&S.

Quality Engineer Salary £36,000 - £40,000 p.a. 4 Day Week Dudley Area Permanent Role

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Production of PPAP’s, ISIR’s & other customer specific documentation
• Maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System - managing annual quality audit and systems
• Create FMEA, Control plans, PSW, IMDS
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Carry out inspections (first-off, last-off, and in-process checks)
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and tolerances
• Support quality requirements like APQP, ISIR, PSW and 8D’s
• Work with production teams to reduce defects and waste
• Keep H&S system up to date and support external advisors
• Conduct risk assessments and review safe working practices
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations
• Monitor safe operation of machinery and equipment
• Investigate accidents and implement preventative measures
• Carry out internal audits for quality and safety
• Support external and customer audits
• Create and update procedures, work instructions, and records
• Train staff on quality standards and health & safety procedures
• Drive continuous improvement using root cause analysis and problem-solving tools
• Producing workflow processes for new product introduction

THE CANDIDATE:

• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
• Conversant with the ISO 9001 systems and procedures
• CMM experience
• IOSH Qualification (NEBOSH desirable but not essential)
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Good problem-solving skills
• Able to converse with customers regarding requirements / NPI
