Quality Coordinator - Microbiology, Ipswich

Overview

Our client is seeking a dedicated Quality Coordinator to join their Microbiology team in Ipswich. This role offers hybrid flexibility and involves overseeing quality processes within a food testing laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and improve the site-specific document control system.
  2. Prepare, update, and manage quality documentation.
  3. Investigate and resolve customer complaints and queries.
  4. Conduct internal audits and support external audits.
  5. Monitor and ensure completion of corrective actions from audits.
  6. Oversee equipment calibration and monitoring records.
  7. Deliver quality inductions and support training in internal auditing, non-conforming work processes, and root cause analysis.
  8. Monitor internal quality control levels and analyze quality data.
  9. Investigate non-conforming work issues using root cause analysis.
  10. Prepare and submit monthly quality KPI reports.
  11. Communicate with third-party suppliers for calibration and related services.
  12. Escalate critical quality issues.
  13. Perform other quality-related duties as required by management.
Candidate Requirements
  1. Degree or equivalent in Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  2. Practical experience working in a food testing laboratory is essential.
  3. Experience in a UKAS-accredited lab is highly desirable.
  4. Previous experience in a quality role is advantageous; however, quality training will be provided for the right candidate.
