A leading aerospace company is seeking a skilled Source Inspector for their Quality Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections at suppliers' locations, ensuring compliance with the highest quality standards and procedures. Ideal candidates will possess strong expertise in dimensional and visual inspection processes alongside proficiency in GD&T and blueprint interpretation.

Qualifications

Job Opportunity: Source Inspector (Aerospace Quality Operations)

Are you an experienced Quality professional with a passion for aerospace and precision inspection?

We’re looking for a skilled Source Inspectorto join our Quality Operations team. In this key role, you’ll conduct inspection operations—including dimensional, visual, and assembly verification—at our suppliers' locations, ensuring the highest level of quality compliance and product integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of aerospace machined components.
  • Verify First Article Inspections (FAIs) to AS9102 standards for completeness and accuracy.
  • Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using hand measurement tools.
  • Interpret blueprints and apply knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Review supplier documentation and inspection records.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to uphold customer and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate inspection records and reports.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in quality inspection within aerospace manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with FAIs (AS9102 verification) and CMM inspection processes (programming not required).
  • Proficient with hand tools and gauges.
  • Strong Microsoft Outlook and Excel skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to supplier locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC-610/620, J-STD, or MIL-SPEC inspection experience (for PCB or assembly inspection roles).
  • Experience with RCCA and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to pass background check, credit screening, and drug screening.
  • Must meet vision standards (near, far, and color perception).
