Job summary

Sheffield Forgemasters International is seeking a Quality Controller to support production teams in delivering high-quality forgings at our Sheffield site. You will promote continuous improvement and ensure adherence to procedures, PFMEA, and quality management across the forge operations.

The role involves monitoring processes, identifying non-conformances, and contributing to customer audits while maintaining health and safety standards. Flexible working and shift rotations may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar quality-focused role.
• Familiar with technical procedures in a production environment.
• Experience in heavy engineering, steelmaking and/or forging.
• Good understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace.
• Good basic IT skills with MS products.
• Experienced in report writing.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring processes to ensure adherence to manufacturing procedures, the QMS and broader quality management in production areas.
• Identify and implement Continuous Improvement projects.
• Identify any quality concerns and non-conformances.
• Integration of PFMEA and Lessons Learnt.
• Monitoring steelmaking or forging to ensure compliance with technical procedures.
• Actively participate in the Quality Clinic to investigate and resolve issues raised.
• Develop best practice for current operations and for transition to new capital equipment.
• Assist with customer audits.
