Sheffield Forgemasters International is seeking a Quality Controller to support production teams in delivering high-quality forgings at our Sheffield site. You will promote continuous improvement and ensure adherence to procedures, PFMEA, and quality management across the forge operations.
The role involves monitoring processes, identifying non-conformances, and contributing to customer audits while maintaining health and safety standards. Flexible working and shift rotations may be required.
At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Controller to join our team.
This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, and will be working as part of our Technical department in our Forge.
Our Forge department uses comprehensive techniques to create hollow, solid and near-net shaped forgings.
The Forge itself includes two open die forging presses (4,500 tonne and 10,000 tonnes respectively) which are capable of handling ingots up to 300 tonnes. It also houses large gas-fuelled furnaces for re-heating the materials to temperature (usually around 1,250°c) prior to forging and vertical oil and water quenching facilities up to 20 metres deep, allowing hot components to be transferred directly from the forge or heat treatment area, into a quench tank to cool and harden.
As a Quality Controller you will support and guide the production teams in the production of high-quality forgings, or the supply of molten steel or ingots to the manufacturing areas. You will also promote and engage in Continuous improvement which is at the core of Sheffield Forgemaster’s strategy.
As well as having the skills, knowledge and experience for this role, we are also looking for someone who embodies our core values: Customer Focus; Working Together; Trust & Respect; Quality & Innovation and Safety & Wellbeing.
This is a full-time role working 40h hours per week, day and night shifts on rotation.
