Job summary

Sheffield Precision Medical Limited is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our skilled manufacturing team in Sheffield. You will review products to ensure conformance to customer specifications, using metrology equipment and collaborating with Production Engineers and other departments.

The role involves final inspections, reporting, and supporting calibration and inspection systems, with a focus on quality and continuous improvement within a clean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with CMM machinery operation and programming.
• Proficiency with handheld inspection tools and shadow graphs.
• Experience using precision gauges.
• Computer literate and quick to adopt company software.
• Desirable experience with OGP and Vicci Vision equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out final dimensional inspections against drawings and reports (CTQs/FAI).
• Perform first-off/last-off inspections on batches and prototypes.
• Create customer-specific inspection reports using IPI and MRP systems.
• Verify in-process checks and relay feedback to production teams.
• Carry out sample inspections and spot-checks on production work.
• Maintain quality control systems and calibration processes.
• Perform visual and functional checks on parts and assemblies.
• Provide training on inspection equipment to staff.
• Support QC/QA in maintaining calibration systems.
• Work with production staff to meet customer priorities and targets.
• Engage in customer communications and meetings as required.
