Bidfood UK seeks a Quality Assurance Supervisor at the Oliver Kay depot in Wales to lead the QA team, support audits, and uphold the Quality Management System amid daily warehouse operations.

You will deputise for the QA Manager, drive non-conformance resolution, and collaborate with technical teams across sites to ensure stock meets quality and legal standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with BRC Global Standard (S&D or Food) in a food business.
• HACCP or Food Safety qualification (level 3 preferred).
• Detail-oriented with strong communication and team motivation.
• Able to communicate across all levels and with external suppliers.
• Strong IT and numeric skills for data evaluation.

About the role

Quality Assurance Supervisor

Part of the Bidfood group, Oliver Kay specialise in fresh produce and provide a fresh and chilled offering both to their own and to Bidfood customers. Acting as a hub, the depot also supplies Bidfood wholesale sites with goods overnight and has its own Quality Assurance team. Oliver Kay operates a seven-day warehouse operation and offers a six-day delivery service to its customers

As the Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will report to the site QA Manager and deputise for them during daily operations, third party audits and enforcement visits. You will Supervise and motivate a small but effective team that is heavily involved with day to day warehouse operations across the site. You will support audits, implement quality procedures, and ensure high standards are maintained to meet quality, legal and customer requirements. You will support the QA Manager to challenge and develop the current site Quality Management System and proactively identify and highlight areas of non-compliance; working with the depot's management team to effectively resolve any areas of non-compliance. You will be expected to build strong relationships both across the site and with technical teams at other Oliver Kay sites. You will support the diligent inspection and quality management of all stock receipted, stored and dispatched and complete departmental KPI's and period reviews. You will support the upkeep of your local QAS and oversee the investigation of quality and safety complaints ensuring timely response and the completion of corrective action

As the successful candidate for this role you will have:

• Relevant experience with the BRC Global Standard (S&D or Food) and quality management systems within a food business.
• Hold a HACCP or Food Safety qualification (preferably level 3) and be competent at carrying out internal or supplier auditing.
• You will be determined and enthusiastic with a keen eye for detail.
• You will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Be able to motivate your people to bring their best every day

You're able to use your IT and numeric skills to evaluate information. You'll be used to working to targets and will have an accurate and methodical approach to your work.
