Job summary

Bidfood UK, via Oliver Kay, is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to support the QA Manager, supervise a small team, and oversee QA across goods receipts, storage and dispatch at the Chepstow site.

You will contribute to audits, maintain quality procedures, and drive non-conformity corrective actions, while building strong relationships with technical teams across sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with BRC Global Standard (S&D or Food) and quality management systems within a food business.
• HACCP or Food Safety qualification (preferably level 3).
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

• Strong IT and numeric skills to evaluate information.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and motivate a small but effective QA team across daily warehouse operations.
• Support internal audits and third-party audits; assist enforcement visits.
• Implement and uphold quality procedures to meet quality, legal and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with QA Manager to develop the Quality Management System and address non-compliance.
• Oversee inspection, stock QA, and KPI/period review reporting; investigate quality and safety complaints and drive corrective actions.

About the role

Quality Assurance Supervisor

Part of the Bidfood group, Oliver Kay specialise in fresh produce and provide a fresh and chilled offering both to their own and to Bidfood customers. Acting as a hub, the depot also supplies Bidfood wholesale sites with goods overnight and has its own Quality Assurance team. Oliver Kay operates a seven-day warehouse operation and offers a six-day delivery service to its customers

As the Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will report to the site QA Manager and deputise for them during daily operations, third party audits and enforcement visits. You will Supervise and motivate a small but effective team that is heavily involved with day to day warehouse operations across the site. You will support audits, implement quality procedures, and ensure high standards are maintained to meet quality, legal and customer requirements. You will support the QA Manager to challenge and develop the current site Quality Management System and proactively identify and highlight areas of non-compliance; working with the depot's management team to effectively resolve any areas of non-compliance. You will be expected to build strong relationships both across the site and with technical teams at other Oliver Kay sites. You will support the diligent inspection and quality management of all stock receipted, stored and dispatched and complete departmental KPI's and period reviews. You will support the upkeep of your local QAS and oversee the investigation of quality and safety complaints ensuring timely response and the completion of corrective action

• Relevant experience with the BRC Global Standard (S&D or Food) and quality management systems within a food business.
• Hold a HACCP or Food Safety qualification (preferably level 3) and be competent at carrying out internal or supplier auditing.
• You will be determined and enthusiastic with a keen eye for detail.
• You will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Be able to motivate your people to bring their best every day

You're able to use your IT and numeric skills to evaluate information. You'll be used to working to targets and will have an accurate and methodical approach to your work.
