Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in QA within a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Understanding of HACCP and GMP.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
• Eye for detail and accuracy in checking products.
• Good administrative and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of Food Safety Level 2 certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the quality system to meet company practices, codes of practice and customer specifications.
• Update and maintain component specifications, product specifications, QA and HACCP manuals, and customer specs.
• Conduct egg quality checks as detailed in the QA manual.
• Ensure records are checked, reviewed and signed off.
• Assist investigations into complaints and quality failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct in-depth checks of eggs and packing materials and produce findings reports.
• Audit sections of the Quality Management system to ensure compliance and report non-conformances.

Working Hours: 14.00pm - 22.00pm, Monday - Friday

Stonegate are currently seeking Quality Assurance Operatives to join our Packing Centre. As a Quality Assurance Operative you will support the quality improvement and right-first-time agenda so that products are legally manufactured and compliant with customer specifications. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will foster a climate of quality and safety awareness at all stages of production within the centre to ensure product excellence.

Stonegate Farmers Ltd is an integrated free range and organic egg business organised across three divisions comprising farming and agriculture, egg packing and cooked egg processing. Established in 1926 and under current ownership since 2016, we have grown into one the largest free-range and organic egg producers within the UK.

We work closely with our producers to collect, grade and package each individual egg. Fresh eggs requires fresh thinking, therefore, we only employ the most eggcellent people for our operations!

Role & Responsibilities:

• To maintain the elements of the quality system to fully meet the requirements of Company Practices, Codes of Practice and customer protocols
• To maintain and update as required all component specifications, product specifications, Stonegate QA and HACCP Manual, Egg Marketing Regulations and customer specifications.
• To conduct checks of egg as detailed in the QA manual
• To ensure all records are checked, reviewed and signed off
• To assist with the investigation into all complaints and quality failures and make recommendations for corrective action and future prevention.
• To conduct in-depth checks of egg and packing materials when requested by the QA team and to produce reports of the findings
• To audit the relevant sections of the Quality Management system in order to ensure compliance and report all non-conformances

• Previous experience working within Quality Assurance, ideally within food manufacturing
• Understanding of HACCP and GMP
• Basic computer skills

• Knowledge of Food Safety with the ability to pass a level 2 food safety qualification
