Job description

Quality Assurance Engineer

Department: Product Research & Development

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: UK, Lincoln

Reporting To: Peter Hommel


Description

This is a role responsible for testing the Orderwise product prior to release, to ensure it meets the required quality.

The role will be primarily focused on manual testing but with the progression towards test automation.

The role will also be responsible for producing Release Notes for the items being tested.


Responsibilities
  • Test Orderwise Software, using various testing methods, working within an agile sprint team
  • Analyse requirements (specifications/user stories) and define test conditions/test cases
  • Review test analysis produced by other QA team members when required, providing constructive feedback
  • Perform manual tests against these test conditions/test cases
  • Create and maintain automated tests, where required
  • Analyse and report faults to improve software quality
  • Liaise with QA colleagues and Software Engineers when required to ensure issues are understood, effectively recorded and communicated to ensure a satisfactory resolution
  • Participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support other colleagues in their development and training
  • Suggest ways to improve existing processes within the QA team

  • Hands-on experience in testing software manually and via automation
  • Hands-on experience of testing desktop applications and browser-based applications
  • Hands-on experience using Selenium Webdriver/automation frameworks
  • Hands-on experience using Page Object Model / Page Factory in Selenium
  • Hands-on experience in working within agile sprint teams
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Working knowledge of Git-based source code repositories
