Job Requirements

Role Overview

The role involves the organisation and coordination of a Team of circa 20 personnel located throughout Europe, supporting, and enabling the supply chain of the customer to enhance On-Time-Delivery. The Delivery Assurance Field Representative (DAFR) Team Leader’s key responsibilities are to monitor and drive the DAFR’s to highlight and mitigate delivery assurance risks at suppliers based on the customers short and mid-term priorities. Coach, mentor and brief DAFRs to ensure successful project delivery in line with the Statement of Work (SoW). Assist the Project Manager with creation of training material, setting, and maintaining the standard of deliverable presented to the customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Management and Production Planning support of various OEM sites and their suppliers located in the UK & Europe.
  • Build, mentor, and monitor DAFR team ensuring robust visit schedules and delivery plans are in place.
  • Manage team budget in-line with agreed PO values across all European regions.
  • Undertake IPMS Training to allow you to plan, monitor and approve the Teams mandatory administrative activities including Annual Holidays, Timesheets and Expenses.
  • Direct responsibility for management and development of approx. 20 Full Time Employees, including Performance Management Assessment’s and Individual Development Plan completion.
  • Compilation of the team’s Mandatory Training and Key Competency Assessments.
  • Organise, coordinate, and execute new starter and remedial training as required.
  • Assist the Project Manager in hiring of additional personnel or employee terminations as required, in line with budgetary constraints.

Work Experience

Inventory management:

  • Review supplier Line of Balance (LOB), Work in Progress (WIP) tracking , where appropriate to generate and drive recovery plans during on site verification .
  • Identify material, casting, forging , special process, and manufacturing lead-times for all associated components.

Cross Functional Team Member:

  • Function as escalation point for the DAFR team to OEM on supplier and sub-tier supply chain issues.
  • Facilitate Quality or Engineering issues between OEM and the supply chain .
  • Communicate status to internal and customer stakeholders at agreed intervals or when escalation is required.
  • Ensure all Deliverables are achieved, in line with the project Statement of Work (SoW).
  • Support: Lean Events, Supplier Health Assessments, Capacity Reviews, Supplier Platinum Program and NPI Project as required.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in a Supply Chain / Production Planning / Quality / Operations environment.
  • Previous experience of managing cross functional teams.
  • Experience in using SAP or similar ERP system.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes i.e. Forging / Casting / Assembly / Machining / Special Processes.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawing and technical information.
  • Previous aerospace product knowledge.
  • Ability to influence decision making.
  • Travel up to approx. 40%.
  • Experience of structured problem-solving methodology:Lean / ACE, lead change/improvement activity / DMAIC / 6 Sigma etc.
  • Formal auditing qualification.

General:

  • Good Communication in English (oral & written) & People skills.
  • Second European language ( French , German, Spanish, Polish etc.) a benefit.
  • Customer Focus - Ability to build and develop Customer & Supplier relationships.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft work packages: Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Organisational Agility.
  • Problem solving ability.
  • Logical Thinking.
