Job summary

A leading company in the food industry is seeking a Quality Manager to oversee Quality Systems and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. The role involves developing quality management systems, conducting audits, and supporting teams to achieve operational excellence. Ideal candidates will have relevant HACCP and Food Safety qualifications, along with strong communication and planning skills.

Accountable for the site Quality Systems and ensuring compliance to customer and legal requirements in relation to Food Safety, Integrity and Product Quality.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain the Quality Management System ensuring adherence to Legal, Customer and Group compliance standards for food processing.
  2. Ensure Food Safety and Quality Standards are prioritized in operations in line with the company strategy.
  3. Establish effective Technical Systems and communicate gaps to the Technical Team, supporting operations to reach full capabilities.
  4. Serve as the data hub for the Technical team.
Person Specification:

To succeed in this role, you will be/have:

  • Ability to engage and communicate clearly and confidently at various organizational levels.
  • Experience working directly with or for UK food retailers.
  • Ability to work effectively individually or as part of a team in a factory environment.
  • Experience running internal auditing programs within a food manufacturing site.
  • Flexibility to undertake site-based tasks outside standard office hours.
  • Support individuals and teams to deliver outputs within set timeframes and budgets.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • A self-motivated, inquisitive individual with a drive for continuous improvement.
Training/Qualifications:
  • HACCP Level 3 or 4
  • Food Safety Level 3 or 4
  • TACCP/VACCP
  • BRC V9
  • Lead Auditor
  • Knowledge of Customer Codes of Practice and proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
