Your new school: An opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Teaching Assistant to work within a medium-sized Primary School situated in Cardiff. The school prides itself on having an inclusive and supportive environment for both staff and pupils. Your new role:

This role is confirmed as full-time and long-term, with a June start. Interviews will be held over the next few weeks. You will support pupils and teachers in KS2. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Supporting a pupil or small group of children on a 1:1 basis.
• Supporting pupils with behavioural issues.
• Working closely as part of a team.
• Creating and maintaining a safe, interactive, and engaging learning environment for pupils.
• Assisting teachers and other teaching assistants with daily classroom duties.
• Supporting the Class Teacher with planned activities and sessions.

What you’ll need to succeed:

To succeed in this role, you should have extensive experience working with children who present behavioural and learning difficulties. The requirements include:

• At least 40 days of relevant experience working or volunteering within a school over the last 2–3 years.
• Level 3 teaching assistant qualification.
• Empathetic, calm, with problem-solving skills, commitment, and high motivation.
• Experience supporting a child on a 1:1 basis.
