Vision for Education are actively recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a local primary school in Cardiff, rated as outstanding by ESTYN. We're seeking a dedicated individual to join their dynamic team and support pupils across all key stages.
Key Responsibilities of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant:
- Provide support to pupils across all key stages
- Cover classes during short-term teacher absences
- Engage pupils in learning on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assist the class teacher with various tasks and day preparation
- Supervise children during lunch breaks
- Perform general administrative duties
- Contribute to the school's culture and ethos
- Passionately deliver the best educational experience for children
What We Look For in a Higher Level Teaching Assistant:
- HLTA qualification
- Enthusiasm and passion for education
- Interest in supporting pupils to overcome learning barriers
- Experience working with children and young people
- Ability to effectively manage challenging behaviour
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Good general education (GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths) and IT proficiency
- Ability to speak Welsh (preferred, not essential)
