As part of this dedicated team, you will work in a busy and supportive environment assessing and working with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide help at an earlier stage. Your assessment work will involve direct interaction with children and their families, collaborating with agencies including the police and health services to ensure the best outcomes with sustainable positive change. The service maintains strong links with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care intervention is no longer required.

Leveraging your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Using your significant social work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet identified needs.

You will be committed to achieving positive and sustainable results from your interventions. Striving for best practice, you will aim to provide optimal outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to operate as efficiently as possible.

  • Dedicated to continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children.
  • Skilled in mediation and negotiation on behalf of service users.
  • Excellent at building meaningful relationships with children and families to facilitate assessments and plans.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality services to users.
  • Experienced in working within multi-disciplinary, interagency teams.
  • Over 5 years qualified.

In this role, you will:

  • Utilize your skills, knowledge, and experience to conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
  • Manage an agreed caseload.
  • Employ specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes for service users.
  • Develop individual care plans considering diversity, dignity, and empowerment.
  • Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students to foster development.
