Location: West Midlands

Pay Rate: £32 per hour

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated Long Term Safeguarding team. As part of this service, you will have a passion for making a difference to children and their families. You will work in a busy and supportive team that assesses and works with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide help at an earlier stage.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, informed by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you’ll make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you’ll establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.

You’ll be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes of your interventions. Using best practices, you’ll strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you’ll have a passion for supporting children and families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to be as efficient as possible.

Ideal candidate will be:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and child protection issues.
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children.
  • Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
  • Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
  • Committed to providing high-quality services to users.
  • Experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment.
  • 4+ years qualified.
In this role, you will:
  • Assist the Team Leader in the day-to-day running of the Leaving Care and Child Asylum Team and manage complex cases.
  • Be part of the Child Asylum and Leaving Care Team management group, contributing to strategic development, including the statutory Strategic Plan.
  • Develop service leads within the Leaving Care Team to meet service user and stakeholder needs.
  • Engage and monitor staff and direct reports, enabling development within service areas, using reviews to develop and implement improvement plans.
  • Work in partnership with other agencies to develop and provide services for users.
  • Manage and develop supervisees through reflective supervision, coaching, and mentoring. Identify training needs to deliver against objectives and ensure positive outcomes for young people.
  • Ensure quality assurance and performance management keep the service 'inspection ready', safeguarding children and young people at all times.

This role is ideally located for those traveling from Royal Leamington Spa, Kenilworth, Stratford-upon-Avon, Nuneaton, Coventry, Rugby, Bedworth, Warwick, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Worcester, Banbury, Northampton, Leicester, and Loughborough.
