Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Birmingham (B8). This role is ideal for an experienced SEN TA passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive academically and personally.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, work with the class teacher and SENCO, and help pupils access the curriculum in a calm, inclusive environment. A recognised SEN qualification is essential.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Teaching Assistant/SEN qualification.
  • UK-based primary school experience.
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Good understanding of inclusive classroom practice.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patient, caring and consistent approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Support pupils' learning, development and emotional wellbeing.

Aspire People are currently looking for a Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the B8 area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN TA who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and personally.

The Role - Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs
  • Supporting pupils with their learning, development and emotional wellbeing
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum and take part fully in school life
  • Supporting positive behaviour and helping pupils develop their confidence and independence
  • Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Monitoring and communicating pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Creating a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
We are looking for a Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant who has:
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant/SEN qualification - essential
  • UK-based primary school experience - essential
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
  • A good understanding of inclusive classroom practice
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
