Job summary

Remedy Education are seeking an experienced SEN English Teacher to join an SEN school in Epping. The role focuses on delivering English lessons with SEMH needs for pupils aged 11-18.

You will plan engaging lessons, collaborate with SEN staff and therapists, and monitor pupil progress in a supportive environment. QTS and DBS are required, with PGCE or equivalent training and strong classroom management.

Job Title: SEN English Teacher

Location: Epping

Job Type: Full-time (5 days a week)

Working Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30pm

Start Date: After October Half Term

Role Overview:

I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Epping.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.

• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.

• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.

• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.

• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress

• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.

Candidates Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• PGCE or Equivalent training

• Experience in SEN education (Secondary preferred)

• Strong classroom management

• Patient, resilient, adaptable approach

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
