Job summary

Astro Education are seeking qualified Secondary Teachers with QTS to join partner schools across Manchester and surrounding areas on full-time, long-term contracts. Roles are in a supportive, inclusive environment with a focus on delivering high-quality lessons and safeguarding. ECTs are welcome and opportunities exist for professional growth.

Competitive daily rates based on experience and weekly pay are offered, with positions in Manchester and the surrounding regions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Experience in a secondary school environment preferred.
• Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons.
• Strong classroom management and safeguarding commitment.
• ECTs welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging, challenging and effective lessons.
• Teaching your specialist subject across the relevant year groups.
• Following the school’s curriculum and maintaining high expectations.
• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners.

• Providing constructive feedback to support pupil development.

The Role

What We're Looking For

We are looking for qualified Secondary Teachers who hold QTS and are:

• Passionate about teaching and committed to improving outcomes for young people
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Confident planning and delivering high‑quality lessons
• Experienced within a secondary school environment, or an ECT ready to begin their teaching career
• Confident managing behaviour and maintaining high expectations
• Able to differentiate teaching to meet a range of abilities
• Strong communicators who work effectively with pupils and colleagues
• Adaptable, enthusiastic and willing to embrace a new school environment
• Organised, reliable and professional
• Committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
• Passionate about their subject and able to inspire pupils
• Keen to build positive relationships within a new school community
