Job summary

Astro Education are seeking qualified Secondary Teachers with QTS to join partner schools across Manchester and surrounding areas on full-time, long-term contracts. Competitive daily rates based on experience and weekly pay are offered, with positions in Manchester and the surrounding regions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Experience in a secondary school environment preferred.
• Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons.
• Strong classroom management and safeguarding commitment.
• ECTs welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging, challenging and effective lessons.
• Teaching your specialist subject across the relevant year groups.
• Following the school’s curriculum and maintaining high expectations.
• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
• Managing behaviour effectively and consistently.
• Assessing, monitoring and recording pupil progress.
• Providing constructive feedback to support pupil development.
• Identifying and supporting pupils who require additional help.
• Building positive and professional relationships with pupils.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider school team.
• Contributing to curriculum planning and development where required.
• Supporting extracurricular activities and wider school initiatives.
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Contributing positively to the wider life and ethos of the school.
