Job summary

Espoir Recruitment are sourcing a Qualified Residential Support Worker for a trusted children's residential care provider. You will build positive relationships, support with daily living, education attendance, and create a safe, nurturing environment in line with Ofsted regulations.

Applicants should have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or Ofsted-recognised equivalent), at least 12 months' experience, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or Ofsted-recognised equivalent).
• At least 12 months' experience in a children's residential setting.
• Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015.
• Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and behaviour management.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including sleep-ins, evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting and meaningful relationships with children and young people.
• Support young people in line with their individual care plans, risk assessments and placement plans.
• Promote positive behaviour through therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.
• Safeguard children and young people at all times and report concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.
• Support children with education attendance, homework and achievement of educational goals.
• Assist young people with daily living skills including cooking, budgeting, personal care and independent living preparation.
• Organise and participate in recreational, educational and social activities.
• Attend appointments, reviews, meetings and family contact sessions where required.
• Undertake accurate record keeping, incident reports, daily logs and other documentation.
• Administer medication in line with company policy and training.
• Help maintain the home's compliance with Ofsted regulations and quality standards.
• Participate in team meetings, supervisions and ongoing training.
• Contribute to creating a positive, homely and nurturing environment.
