Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a fully qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Burton Latimer. This full-time post runs term-time only, with hours 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday, starting September 2026.

Salary ranges £100-£120 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications. The HLTA will lead pre-planned lessons, provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, and assist pupils with SEND across the primary age range.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification is essential.
• Experience in a primary school environment.
• Ability to support pupils with varied learning needs.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Positive behaviour management and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver pre-planned lessons and activities.
• Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.
• Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Promote engagement and wellbeing while managing behaviour.
• Collaborate with class teachers, the SENCO and staff.
• Support pupil progress through effective interventions.
• Take responsibility for a class when required.
• Help prepare learning resources and activities.
• Follow safeguarding and child-protection procedures.
