Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a fully qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Burton Latimer. This full-time post runs term-time only, with hours 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday, starting September 2026.

Salary ranges £100-£120 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications. The HLTA will lead pre-planned lessons, provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, and assist pupils with SEND across the primary age range.

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Burton Latimer, Kettering is seeking a fully qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join its supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is confident supporting learning across the primary age range and who can contribute positively to pupils' academic, social and emotional development.

Please note: An HLTA qualification is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities.
• Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.
• Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Help maintain a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and wellbeing.
• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and wider school staff.
• Support pupils' progress and development through effective learning interventions.
• Take responsibility for a class or group when required.
• Contribute to the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities.
• Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and child-protection procedures.

Essential Requirements

• Recognised HLTA qualification - essential.
• Previous experience working within a primary school environment.
• Confidence supporting pupils across different learning needs.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage behaviour positively and consistently.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently when required.
• A genuine commitment to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.

Desirable Experience

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
• Experience working with pupils with additional or complex needs.
• Experience delivering interventions or pre-planned lessons.
• Experience managing challenging behaviour.
• Experience working across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2.
