Job Title: Raw Material Sampling Technician

Contract Type: Initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension, full-time

Location: Slough, UK- Fully on Site

Job Summary

This role involves working effectively within a clean room environment, accurately dispensing required weights and volumes of raw materials while maintaining a high standard of GMP. Responsibilities also include overseeing the area, ensuring calibration dates are maintained, coordinating with other departments, managing schedules and logbooks, and supporting the training of team members. The technician will be based within the warehouse and must be proficient in both electronic and paper-based GMP systems for accurate sampling documentation. Additionally, maintaining inventory and ensuring the cleanliness of the environment are key aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Raw Material Sampling

• Generate sampling labels
• Transfer raw materials using GMP electronic systems
• Move raw material containers into the sampling clean room
• Open and sample raw material containers per GMP procedures
• Accurately document transfers and sampling in logbooks and GMP records
• Return sampled containers to stock locations
• Transfer sampled materials to the QC laboratory
• Maintain the ambient raw material retention sample storage area
• Assist with disposal of retention samples
• Coordinate with Warehouse, Supply Chain, and Procurement to resolve issues and address concerns
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the sampling area

Quality & Compliance

• Monitor and ensure calibration dates for room and equipment are up to date
• Work with Engineering and Validation teams to plan and schedule maintenance activities
• Oversee cleaning and usage logbooks, ensuring they are up to standard and routinely signed
• Provide training and mentorship to junior members and Scientist–Analysts
• Raise EWRP requests via paper-based or electronic systems
• Perform sample testing and report results in accordance with GMP procedures
• Lead or assist in the creation and completion of quality records, including Deviations, Change Controls, Out of Specification (OOS) / Out of Trend (OOT), and CAPA tasks
• Manage document updates and control timelines for successful implementation of changes

General Duties

• Maintain the clean room environment and sampling room inventory
• Assist with internal, customer, and regulatory audits, completing assigned actions
• Ensure training profile remains above 95% and attend required training sessions within designated timelines

Qualifications

Required:

• A-Level education or equivalent experience in Chemistry

Preferred:

• BSc in Chemistry
