ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable Production Technician. You will be responsible for getting our products into customers' hands by making and packaging media, handling logistics and traceability, and routine lab operations and maintenance both in our labs in White City and our production facility in Park Royal. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a technical or scientific background who enjoys working in a practical, fast-moving environment.

This is not a research role - we are looking for someone who can keep things running smoothly and maintainproductionprocesses.It is not suitable for those seeking an academic or research-focused career.

The ideal candidate will take pride in executing their assigned work in a precise and accurate way. You’ll own the production process, driving continuous process improvements, adapting to new equipment and methods, and contributing directly to the company’s growth.

Candidates must be ready to start immediately (within a month) and have the legal right to work in the UK.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Media Production & Quality Oversight: Perform cell media production, QA/QC, and final product processing. This includes following media manufacturing SOPs, performing QC assays, sterile filling-packaging-labelling, and ensuring adherence to regulatory manufacturing standards (ISO 22000, FSSC 22000).
  • Logistics and Order Fulfilment: Oversee the shipping process to ensure timely, accurate delivery. This includes fulfilling orders, scheduling, selecting couriers, and monitoring shipments.
  • Laboratory & Facility Maintenance: Perform maintenance tasks, manage inventory via an electronic lab notebook (ELN), maintain stock levels, place orders, and ensure a clean, organized environment.
  • Data Management & Traceability: Collect, log, and analyse data related to inventory, manufacturing, and QC to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Equipment Management: Operate, maintain, and arrange servicing of production equipment. Coordinate equipment use and assist in sourcing new machinery.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Educational background in biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, food sciences, or related fields, and/or 1-2 years relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent aseptic technique
  • Very strong attention to detail, organization, documentation, and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative team player.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and proactively resolve them.
  • Proven ability to thrive in dynamic start-up environments, working independently and adapting swiftly to shifting priorities and ambiguous challenges.

The following skills and experiences would help you stand out even more:

  • Experience with cell culturing and/or cell media production in sterile settings.
  • Hands-on experience in industrial quality control.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP)

Please note that you will be expected to work in both our labs in White City and our production facility in Park Royal.

Round 1. 30 minute screening interview introduction to Multus, the role, and an opportunity for the team to learn more about your experience and what you're looking for in your next role.

Round 2. 120 minute in person interview, including a task and panel interview, where we’ll explore the skills and knowledge you’ll bring to this role. This will take place in our White City office, and will include an office and lab tour as well as an opportunity to meet some of your future colleagues!
