About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join the Laboratory Management Team (LMT).

The purpose of this role is to carry out routine tasks to support the smooth operation of the non-GXP laboratory, including waste management, stock control, reagent preparation, and cleaning.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee, maintain, and ensure the quality of key stock consumables, media, solutions, buffers used by scientists to ensure work continuity.
  2. Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and facilities as per schedule.
  3. Ensure adherence to waste management systems, including autoclave use and waste disposal.
  4. Ensure equipment is serviced, calibrated, and fit for purpose; raise asset requests, prepare asset relocation and disposal forms, and coordinate with engineers.
  5. Maintain documentation, ensuring it is populated, QC checked, and filed according to local rules.
  6. Assist in maintaining health and safety compliance as applicable.
Candidate Requirements:
  1. Minimum GCSE level (in a science subject) or equivalent qualification or skills gained through similar work experience.
  2. Degree in a scientific subject (preferred).
  3. Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
