Job Title: QC Analyst at Bio-Techne

Bio-Techne, a world-leading developer and manufacturer of high-quality biological reagents, is seeking a QC Analyst to join their growing QC department in Bristol. The successful candidate will work within a vibrant and dynamic team, conducting QC analyses for Tocris (a Bio-Techne Brand), testing products from complex syntheses of biologically active library compounds and custom synthesis projects for both internal research and external clients.

Requirements:
  • Degree in chemistry or a related science
  • Minimum 1+ years of QC experience (GMP experience advantageous); 3+ years preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of analytical chemistry
  • High personal productivity and independence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Practical skills and proficiency in data interpretation
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • IT proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office
  • Safe laboratory working practices
Role & Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the lab
  • Gain familiarity with QC and analytical techniques through training and courses
  • Perform QC tests and review work, including techniques such as HPLC, GC, SFC, MS, NMR, FT-IR, UV/Vis, Fluorescence, Melting Point, Karl Fischer, Optical Rotation, and Solubility
  • Develop and validate methods as needed
  • Update SOPs, test methods, and specifications
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Prepare and manage reagents, solvents, and chemicals
  • Maximize productivity and meet deadlines with minimal errors
  • Maintain high standards of practical work and documentation, complying with GMP standards
  • Follow all documented procedures
