Job summary

We are working with a leading data centre delivery partner seeking a QA/QC M&E Engineer to join their team in the North East. The role covers QA/QC procedures across electrical and mechanical works, handover documentation, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

You will prepare handover materials, review packages, and coordinate with construction teams and clients to ensure high quality outcomes and timely defect close-out.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade background and/or a third level qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• 5+ years' experience in a similar QA/QC/MEP role is essential.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, installation and commissioning.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent planning skills.
• Ability to self-manage, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication with colleagues and clients; ability to lead and enthuse others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare handover inspection, test documentation and operation & maintenance manuals.
• Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures for Electrical and Mechanical works throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and issue final handover packages to the client.
• Ensure regulatory standards compliance during installation and inspection.
• Perform quality inspections and close out defects.
• Oversee testing on the project and liaise with construction teams and client on quality matters.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and consultants to meet quality requirements.
• Input into weekly progress reporting on quality items.
