Job summary

Jones Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Engineer for a large-scale data centre project in London. The role involves hands-on site inspections and close coordination with the Mechanical PM, construction teams and commissioning.

You will drive quality through ITPs, NCRs, snagging and progressive as‑built documentation, ensuring adherence to drawings and standards for a fast-track build.

Qualifications

• Experience managing ITPs, inspection records, test packs, NCRs and quality documentation.
• Site-based QA/QC duties on large-scale data centre projects with a hands‑on approach.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications and BIM/coordinated drawings.
• Proactive, right‑first‑time quality mindset and commissioning readiness.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the project Mechanical QA/QC procedures and quality requirements.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals and BIM information.
• Prepare, review and manage ITPs, check sheets and quality records.
• Carry out regular site inspections of mechanical installations and monitor workmanship.
• Ensure installations meet approved construction information and standards.
• Inspect CHW/glycol systems, pipework, pumps, AHUs, ductwork and related items.
• Witness and record pressure testing, flushing, cleaning and system integrity testing.
• Raise NCRs and drive close-out; manage snagging and de-snags.
• Maintain QA/QC trackers and as‑built information; coordinate with commissioning.
• Ensure documentation is complete before progressing to next stage.
