Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to support mission-critical data centre projects on-site in Blyth, United Kingdom. You will drive QA/QC for all mechanical installations, working with Construction and Project teams to ensure strict adherence to project specs and international standards.

The role requires inspecting piping, HVAC, pumps and chillers, producing ITPs, managing NCRs, and ensuring robust CAPA and precise documentation for project handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related construction discipline.
• Proven track record as a QA/QC Engineer on large-scale construction projects.
• Deep familiarity with mechanical plant commissioning, pressure testing, and welding standards.
• Experience developing and executing ITPs and QA documentation.
• Strong communication to challenge subcontractor workmanship and drive zero-defect culture.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Inspection & Surveillance of piping, HVAC, pumps, chillers, AHUs, and insulation.
• Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures for mechanical packages.
• Review and manage method statements, ITPs, test logs, and quality docs from subcontractors.
• Conduct on-site audits, FAT reviews, and issue NCRs with corrective actions.
• Support engineering with CAPA to resolve quality issues and verify effectiveness.
• Verify incoming mechanical plant and equipment documentation and certification.
• Maintain meticulous records for tracking and project handover dossiers.
