Job summary

Greencore Wisbech is recruiting a Quality Assurance Intake Operative to ensure raw materials, ingredients and packaging meet strict food safety and quality standards before entering the manufacturing process.

You will work with Intake, Warehouse, Production and Technical teams to perform inspections, temperature checks and documentation, maintaining traceability and reporting any non-conformances to protect product quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing, warehouse intake, QA or technical environment.
• Understanding of food safety, quality standards and GMP.
• Attention to detail and ability to log accurate records.
• Temperature control, product traceability and allergen management.
• Able to work in a fast-paced chilled environment.
• Good communication and raise quality concerns when standards are not met.
• Collaborate with Intake, Warehouse, Production, Technical and other departments.
• Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Willing to learn and develop in Technical and QA functions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quality and food safety checks on incoming raw materials, ingredients and packaging.
• Inspect incoming deliveries to meet quality, appearance, temperature and specification standards.
• Perform temperature checks on incoming chilled and frozen goods within required limits.
• Check product labelling, use-by dates, batch codes and traceability information.
• Review deliveries against product specifications and identify discrepancies.
• Maintain intake inspection records and quality documentation.
• Identify, report and escalate non-conforming or damaged materials.
• Support management of rejected or quarantined stock.
• Collaborate with Warehouse, Intake, Production, Technical and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues.
• Carry out product sampling and quality assessments as required.
• Maintain GMP, hygiene and food safety standards in intake and storage areas.
• Ensure HACCP, allergen controls, food safety and Health & Safety procedures are followed.
• Assist with supplier quality investigations and internal audits.
• Support full product traceability throughout manufacturing.
• Promote a positive food safety and quality culture on site.
• Assist continuous improvement to reduce quality issues in intake.
