Greggs plc is expanding its Technology Engineering team in Newcastle upon Tyne, hiring a QA Engineer to drive greenfield projects across digital and in-store experiences.

The role blends manual and automated testing within an agile squad, designing robust test strategies for frontend and API layers, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines for rapid delivery. Collaborate across functions to ensure quality and security in a dynamic retail tech environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in manual and automated QA testing.
• Experience writing automated tests with Cypress, Playwright or Selenium IDE.
• API testing with Postman.
• Experience with Flutter test automation.
• CI/CD experience (Azure DevOps).
• Knowledge of accessibility and performance testing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure).
• Experience testing mobile apps (iOS/Android).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and refine acceptance criteria with cross-functional squads.
• Design and maintain automated and manual test suites for front-end and API layers.
• Write robust test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Conduct exploratory, performance, and accessibility testing across environments.
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines for fast feedback.
• Participate in agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Advocate for quality and identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor test coverage, defects, and release readiness; report findings.
• Support troubleshooting of production issues.
• Stay updated on new test technologies and frameworks.
