Job summary

ASL is seeking a motivated purchasing Buyer to join our growing team in Lancashire. The role offers an excellent salary of around GBP33k-GBP38k plus a company bonus, pension, holidays and healthcare.

The successful candidate will bring purchasing experience in engineering/manufacturing, strong IT skills (ERP/MRP, SAP or similar), and knowledge of imports/exports. You will manage PO processing, supplier communications and invoicing support.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, buying, procurement within engineering/manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and SAP or similar.
• Experience with imports, exports, freight and customs clearance is advantageous.
• Supplier relationship management and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchase Order processing - raise, manage and process purchase orders for goods and services.
• Buying, pricing and checking availability.
• Invoice and GRPO support.
• Import/export documentation handling.
• Supplier communication regarding quotations, progress, deliveries and pricing.

• Good experience of purchasing, buying, being a buyer, purchasing buyer, procurement, purchasing experience

• Some supplier relationship management experience and negotiation skills
• Experience of procurement processes within engineering, manufacturing or technical industries ideally or similar fast paced environment with multiple suppliers
