Job summary

ASL is seeking a motivated Buyer in Lancashire for our engineering-sector operations. The role offers an excellent salary of circa GBP33k-GBP38k plus benefits, including annual bonus, pension, generous holidays and healthcare.

You will handle buying, PO processing, pricing, supplier communications and import/export documentation, working within a small but forward-thinking procurement team.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing or procurement within engineering, manufacturing or technical environments.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and SAP.
• Experience with imports/exports, freight and customs clearance.
• Supplier relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Procurement processes in fast-paced supplier networks.

Responsibilities

• Purchase Order processing - raise, manage and process POs for goods and services.
• Buying, pricing and checking availability.
• Invoice and Goods Receipt/GRPO support.
• Import/export documentation handling.
• Communicate with suppliers on quotations, progress and pricing.

Job description

A motivated purchasing Buyer is required for our market leading, award-winning engineering client. In return there is a excellent salary of circa GBP33k-GBP38k+ dependant on experience with excellent company benefits including annual company bonus, excellent pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, healthcare and career in an established reputable company.

The ideal buyer will have the following key skills and experiences;

• Good experience of purchasing, buying, being a buyer, purchasing buyer, procurement, purchasing experience
• Good systems experience, ERP, MRP, SAP or similar
• Experience, knowledge of imports, exports, freight, customs clearance (advantageous)
• Some supplier relationship management experience and negotiation skills
• Experience of procurement processes within engineering, manufacturing or technical industries ideally or similar fast paced environment with multiple suppliers
