Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is representing a well-established engineering manufacturer seeking a Technical Buyer to join their team in Redhill. This role supports day-to-day procurement across a wide supplier base, raises purchase orders, and collaborates with engineering, production and planning to ensure timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing procurement experience, strong supplier communication, and a practical understanding of ERP systems and Excel.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in purchasing/procurement in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Good understanding of supply chain processes and procurement best practices.
• Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working with ERP systems and Excel.
• Proactive, organised, and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day procurement activities across a wide supplier base.
• Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Source new suppliers and obtain quotations in line with business requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any delivery or quality issues.
• Work closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to support operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate records within ERP systems.
• Assist with stock control and inventory management where required.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and procurement processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day procurement activities across a wide supplier base

Salary

£30,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
