Job summary

Morris & Spottiswood Group is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager for the Public Sector division. The role is full-time, permanent, and hybrid with offices in Leeds or Warrington; travel across the UK to live sites will be required.

Reporting to the Operations Manager/Director, you will lead multiple projects, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery while managing client relationships and coordinating procurement, finance, and tender activities.

Qualifications

• CSCS Management Card
• SMSTS
• First Aid certification
• Full UK driving licence
• Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of public sector projects ensuring safety, programme, quality and commercial objectives.
• Act as client liaison, maintain strong relationships and ensure clear communications throughout project lifecycle.
• Lead and coordinate project teams including site managers and subcontractors; support staff development.
• Collaborate with Commercial team to manage contract finances, budgets and cost controls.
• Oversee procurement strategies, subcontractor management and materials planning with Procurement.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company H&S systems.
• Plan, programme and phase works at tender stage using Asta Powerproject or MS Project; present programmes to clients.
• Chair and manage client, subcontractor, and internal team meetings with effective delegation.
