Job summary

Morris & Spottiswood, a leading UK provider of fitout, refurbishment and construction services, seeks an experienced Contracts Manager for its Public Sector division. The role combines office-based leadership with site visits across the UK, ensuring safe, on-time delivery and high client satisfaction.

Reporting to Operations Manager/Director, you will manage multiple contracts, lead project teams, manage budgets and work with procurement.

Qualifications

• Hold CSCS Management Card, SMSTS and First Aid certifications.
• Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Flexible in working hours and able to work from either office or site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of public sector contracts ensuring safety, programme and quality targets are met.
• Maintain strong client relationships and clear communication throughout project lifecycles.
• Lead and coordinate site managers and subcontractors; develop staff performance.
• Collaborate with Commercial to manage finances, budgets and cost controls.
• Oversee procurement strategies and subcontractor management with Procurement.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and internal systems.
• Plan and programme works using Asta Powerproject or MS Project and present to clients.
• Chair client, subcontractor and internal meetings; drive timely decision making.
