Job summary

POP MART in Canary Wharf, London, is seeking a seasoned Public Affairs professional to lead stakeholder engagement, regulatory liaison, and cross-border policy initiatives within the UK and Europe.

You will build relationships with authorities, support global HQ projects, monitor policy shifts in the toy and retail sectors, and travel across Europe as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Public Affairs, International Relations, Law, Business Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in public affairs or public policy; multinational FMCG/retail experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with European retail or toy industry regulations is a plus.
  • English proficiency; Mandarin/French/German advantageous for cross-border collaboration.
  • Willingness to travel across Europe.

What You Will Achieve

Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy

  • Build and maintain proactive communication with key institutional stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Foster strong relationships and ensure smooth interaction with local authorities in regions where our retail stores operate.

Public Affairs & Operational Support

  • Provide support for local public affairs matters, addressing operational challenges and resolving ad-hoc regulatory issues.
  • Spearhead the advancement of corporate initiatives and major strategic projects in collaboration with Global Headquarters.
  • Stay informed of key policy trends and legislative changes across the UK and major European markets; provide timely insights and early warnings on potential operational risks.
  • Conduct in-depth research on public policy, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards impacting the designer toy and lifestyle retail sectors.
What You Will Need
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Public Affairs, International Relations, Law, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience in public affairs or public policy; experience in multinational FMCG, retail, or chain industries is highly preferred.

  • Language Skills: English proficiency. Fluency in Mandarin, French, or German is a strong advantage for cross-border collaboration.
