Mint People is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a welcoming country pub in the Penrith area. The role offers an immediate start and ongoing work, with accommodation provided.

You will support the Head Chef, prepare and cook high-quality dishes, and help manage the kitchen team. Applicants should have previous Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie experience, a solid work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a busy kitchen while upholding food hygiene standards and stock control.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or senior chef de partie.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a busy kitchen.
• Willingness to work in a country pub environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to a consistent standard.
• Help manage and motivate the kitchen team.
• Ensure food hygiene, health & safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and kitchen organisation.
• Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
