Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a Section Engineer or Sub Agent with rail civils experience to lead on-site activities for a Tier 1 contractor. The role covers quality assessment, health and safety inspections, design issues and management of subcontractors.

Candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, PTS, and a proven track record in civils and rail. The position is site-based and requires immediate availability.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• PTS qualification preferred.
• CITB TWC beneficial but not essential.
• Rail civils and rail project experience preferred; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractors and engineers on site.
• Procure materials and manage ordering.
• Ensure quality control and health and safety compliance.
• Produce weekly rolling programmes.
• Support site engineers and oversee site activities.
• Report progress to stakeholders.

Are you a Section Engineer or Sub Agent seeking their next role with an established Tier 1 Contractor?

The role will include quality assessment, health and safety inspection, design issues and management of subcontractors.

Suitable candidates will come from a rail stations background and have experience working on AFA schemes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Managing the sub-contractors and engineers
• Procurement / ordering of materials
• Quality Control of the works / Health and Safety
• Production of weekly rolling programmes
• Providing support to site engineers
• Management of site activities
• Progress reporting

Candidate Requirements:

• Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
• PTS
• CITB TWC - would be beneficial but not essentialThe successful candidate will have a proven track record in civils and rail, be confident to work on their own and be immediately available.
