Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a PTS Section Engineer for a contract role within the rail and infrastructure sector. You will lead civil engineering works, manage site activities and supervise subcontractors to ensure safety, programme and quality standards.

The role requires setting out expertise, engineering assurance and a strong grasp of ITPs, with NEC contract experience considered advantageous. A valid PTS/CSCS and related civil qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Section Engineer on rail, infrastructure or civils projects.
• Proven setting out and engineering assurance experience.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and site activities.
• Good knowledge of quality processes and ITPs/records.
• Awareness of temporary works controls.
• NEC contracts experience is advantageous.
• Valid PTS and CSCS cards.
• Desirable SSSTS/SMSTS.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering.

The role will involve managing the day-to-day delivery of designated civil engineering work packages, ensuring that works are completed safely, to programme, to the required quality standards and in accordance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing sections of civil engineering works through construction and delivery

Job Requirements

• Experience working as a Section Engineer on rail, infrastructure or civil engineering projects


• Strong experience in setting out and engineering assurance


• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities


• Good understanding of quality processes, inspection and test plans and engineering records


• Awareness of temporary works requirements and associated controls


• Experience working with NEC contracts would be advantageous


• Valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification and CSCS card


• SMSTS or SSSTS certification would be desirable


• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline
